Blizzard Is Deliberately "Downgrading" the Skyborne in WoW: Forever
Blizzard is intentionally reducing the visual detail and modern polish of the new Skyborne race. Rather than making the characters look as modern as possible, the studio is dialing back the softness, adjusting color saturation, and developing separate SD models so the new race fits more naturally alongside the classic visuals of old World of Warcraft. The simplified versions are planned for early 2027, and the idea has already received a positive response from parts of the community.
